Class customization in Call of Duty was relatively simplistic when it was first introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare . Where Battlefield used classes as a form of strategic team composition, Call of Dut y ‘s Create-A-Class system focused more on player preference than anything else. Battlefield would eventually implement some broader aspects of weapon/equipment customization as a result, but never compromised on its commitment to team strategy. Then, Gunsmith in Modern Warfare brought weapon customization to a new le
The current game in the series, Battlefield 5 , was marred with issues from the day it was released. The game not only felt incomplete, with its miniscule map roster and plethora of bugs, but future updates were incredibly inconsistent and many promised features never saw the light of day, such as the 5v5 competitive mode . Even its attempt at a battle royale mode, called Firestorm in Battlefield 5 , wasn’t safe from its own set of issues. Battlefield 5’s life cycle was so turbulent that its final content patch was released last summer , more than a year before the next game in the series is expected to rele
In terms of what was specifically shown, the gameplay from DICE is very ambiguous. It’s clearly an early prototype of gameplay for the next Battlefield game, but the assets themselves don’t appear to be any different from Battlefield 5 . It’s very possible the prototype gameplay shown was a repurposing of assets from Battlefield 5 showcasing what next-gen processing is capable of. That being said, it shows about around a hundred of what appear to be rendered models (all potentially players) moving in a single space. There also was a scene showing a building collapsing, which was more than likely showcasing a new version of Battlefield ‘s Destruction physics. Lastly, there were a few close-ups of an indistinct soldier’s face rendered in high detail, though it wasn’t clear if this was next-gen graphics rendered in-eng
Only problem with taking the adventurous route with Battlefield is that the game could potentially dip into risky territory. Conflicts that simply are lesser known, not as long-lasting, or even uninteresting from a gameplay perspective could make developing these games that much less feasible. It’s very unlikely Battlefield 6 would select anything that’s pre-20th century that isn’t WW2 or the Vietnam War, but there is the tiniest chance that a spin-off title or mainline entry could explore a conflict not often seen in ga

Speaking of which, one of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ‘s final expansions was also based in Vietnam , so the potential is there. There also was a Battlefield Vietnam released in 2004, so there’s a few sources in Battlefield ‘s history that DICE could use as a jumping off point for a new iterat
Assuming Battlefield still wants to revisit other pivotal points in history, there is one time period the franchise touched on very briefly. Returning to Vietnam would be perfect for the battlefield 2042 maps|https://Battlefield2042hq.com/ franchise because the combat during the Vietnam War emphasizes what the series has done best. Plus, a vignette-style campaign like in Battlefield 1 but set during the Vietnam War could be incredibly interesting, and considering the many diverse perspectives the player could view the war through would provide a very compelling story. Chaotic firefights in jungles, lush and varied scenery, and paired with destruction Battlefield is known for, a Vietnam time period would evoke serious Bad Company 2 vi
From a speculation standpoint, it’s hard to truly read between the lines here. It’s clear all of this prototype gameplay was shown at EA Play Live in service to getting fans excited by the potential technology that could go into the next Battlefield game, but there wasn’t too much shown. Considering EA Play Live premiered in June, and a new Battlefield game is planned for 2021, this footage was likely captured very early on in the game’s developm

Hopefully, both companies have learned from the failure of Battlefield 5 and are able to revive hope and excitement for the series when they finally reveal more information on the game next y
