Shovel Knight was released back in 2014 but it just wasn’t enough. Luckily, Yacht Club Games came out with a whole new storyline and adventure centered around Plague Knight with Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows. In it we’re playing as one of the bad guys as we go off to do bad guy things, but is Plague Knight really all that bad? He’s definitely one of the most interesting characters in the game and ditching the shovel in favor of potions and explosives is a great change of pace. Altering the story to fit Plague Knight is a great addition to the classic NES-style platformer. Playing through all the same levels we’re used to but as a different character bring a new perspective to the world. We can only hope every knight will get their chance in the spotlight.
In the last twelve years, the powerhouse studio has developed a reputation of announcing games by revealing breathtaking cinematic trailers that appeal to both long-time fans of the company’s IPs and potential new customers. Although the last few games and their expansions have been announced with trailers that focus more on in-game footage ( like World of Warcraft: Legion ), the company still releases a top of the line cinematic trailer when each new product hits shel
Tyrael’s Sacrifice is the first of a few tear-jerkers to make our list. Unlike the World of Warcraft opening cinematic, this Diablo 3 cinematic is entirely devoted to established characters in the game’s universe. The three-minute cut scene contains lots of flash and action in the heavens, but what makes it great is how well it pulls at the player’s heart stri
Duking it out with gigantic creatures is great in any video MOBA game news. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate came out last February and brought its massive monsters to the U.S. One of the game’s biggest strengths is its diverse weaponry and armor you wear to hunt down big trophies. Customizing yourself to fit the action is necessary in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and luckily there’s enough to wear. Even though your goal is to track down and kill the monsters, it is amazing seeing how different they all are. All the sizes, colors and abilities make for a wild adventure.
The word ‘ Tetris ‘ instantly throws that iconic jingle into our heads, but it doesn’t just take the top spot on our list because of its music — although it did have some great tunes. Stacking blocks and filling out rows turned out to be an absolutely intoxicating affair on the Game Boy, which is what lead it to be the system’s most popular game of all-t
Regardless of what the most hardcore fans thought, the Mists of Pandaria trailer became an incredibly popular TV spot in the month’s leading up to the game’s release. It featured exciting action with its three way battle, but more importantly, showcased Blizzard’s sense of humor. The trailer isn’t full of jokes at all, but a few well-placed visual gags make it impossible not to love the cinematic introduction of the universe’s new r
The voice over narration perfectly sets up the conflict that the Horde and Alliance have remained locked in for the last ten years and by focusing on unnamed heroes, rather than icons of the Warcraft world , players are able to imagine themselves as the Orc warrior going berserk or the Dwarf hunter exploring the snowy mountains. Maybe it’s just nostalgia taking over, but we’re tempted to roll a new character every time the drums of war start beating in this trai
Viewed by many to be the best portable iteration of The Legend of Zelda series, Link’s Awakening was a true-to-form sequel that brought various elements from the home console iteration to a portable gaming device. Gamers the world over clamored for the game when it hit store shelves and it was unanimously well-received by critics upon it’s arri
On paper, the plan is being executed to perfection. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) uses his new superpower to sense big things in his new girlfriend’s future, those big things get even bigger when a magical villain comes to town, establishing himself as too much for masked vigilantes, and chasing the now-fully-revealed Hawkgirl off into their own series . It’s a thing of shared universe beauty if it can be pulled off, and Crump is up to the task of playing an immortal villain. Unfortunately and, perhaps fittingly, it’s the velocity that becomes the prob
They gave me a chance and let me cast a game and I was like, “Alright, thanks!” He emailed me next week and asked, “Hey, would you like to cast this game too?” I’m like, “Sure,” and he would give me a game to cast. Then, over time, another person reached out, “Hey, do you want to cast this, you want to cast that?” Sure! It just snowballed from th
For example, the semi-finals match: Laval vs. Kentucky. Laval, they love the concept of eSports but Laval as a school have yet to embrace it. They’re trying to be that lightning rod that says, “This is a thing. This is something that a lot of students have the passion for.” They want to be a spark to a legacy. Not only that, they are representing an entire country. Interviewing them yesterday, they said something like every Canadian team has reached out to them and congratulating t
